Roses in Bloom

I'm sorry It's been a stretch of time since I've posted.  I had a stroke over the holidays so I've been focused on getting better. On one of my trecks to the doctor, I spied this tablecloth in the window of that took my breath away. I just couldn't resist.   I was so excited to show you all of my vintage green glassware that I've picked up along the way.

Our ceremic vintage chistmas trees
So we opted not to put out our silver pom pom tree  this year and instead ate pizza and fixed the best bloody Mary's ever.  It was a great day!  Next year we are going to migrate to a warmer climate for the holidays and exchange our pine trees for coconuts, and boots for flip flops!  Cheers!

Shades of Winter

Ice Cycles at Our House

In Indiana when the wind begins to whistle, temperatures drop numbingly cold and the clouds in the sky turn this sad gray, you know it's time to get out the vintages boots because winter is here!

Tis The Season of Change

Our Vintage Aluminum Tree

So the holiday season is upon us.. bringing the stress we subject ourselves to because of our desire to follow the traditions of our childhood Christmas memories. In the last couple of years, I've realized that attempting to recreate these traditions accentuate the fact that many of our loved ones are no longer with us. So I decided that we wouldn't follow a tradition, I wanted my children to know that they can make their holidays whatever they wished...freeing  us  of longing for days gone by...and giving us the chance to create new memories sans the shackles of sorrow.

Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday

I know, I know, I need to start blogging...
